Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

MSS404055 - Use DMAIC techniques

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Define improvement project

  1. Define project focus and boundaries
  2. Identify customer needs and customer benefits relevant to project focus
  3. Develop current sate map that defines ‘as is’ process
  4. Develop problem statement that defines problem/s within project focus
  5. Develop goal statement that establishes project goals
  6. Identify selection criteria for improvements based on project goals

Measure current state or performance

  1. Identify key measures and/or attributes to be measured relevant to current state performance
  2. Determine methods and schedule for collection of data on key measures and/or attributes
  3. Collect or acquire baseline data according to data collection methods and schedule
